Held on the pristine slopes of Mt. Saint Helens, this course is designed to teach the fundamentals of mountaineering and glacier travel. We will cover skills such as self-arrest techniques, roped team travel, snow anchor building, and crevasse rescue. This trip also includes winter camping and techniques to stay comfortable and safe in Pacific Northwest winter conditions.
This trip includes: Transport to and from REA office, group gear (tents, stoves), mountain gear (ice axe, crampons, helmet, ropes, harnesses, etc), and meals. Participants should be in good physical condition and prepared to spend 2 full days in winter conditions.
This trip requires three (3) participants to run.
