Snowshoe in the Moonlight
Enter the winter wonderland of the Mt Hood Wilderness. Our guides will take you among the frozen pines and firs blanketed in snow as you gaze up at the night sky. On some nights, the moon is bright enough to light the way without the aid of a headlamp!
Hike for an hour up to a spectacular view of Mt Hood (when cloud cover and weather allow), where we break for hot drinks and snacks. The hike will be 2-3 miles roundtrip, depending on group pace. This adventure includes transportation to and from the trailhead (a little more than an hour each way).
Your guides will teach you everything you need to know about using our snowshoes before hitting the trail. No experience necessary! Must be 12 years of age or older. Please contact us if booking for anyone under 18.
Participants must be able to hike at least 2-3 miles over uneven terrain. There may be short sections of trail with a steep incline. Heavy snowfall can make the hike more difficult.
What do I Need to Bring?
A full packing list will be provided after booking.
Meet your guides at our gear bank at 121 E Historic Columbia River Hwy, Troutdale, OR 97060. For Friday night trips we will meet at our gear bank at 5:00pm and depart no later than 5:30pm. On Saturday and Sunday trips we will meet at 4:00pm and depart at 4:30pm. Expect to return to Troutdale at 10:30pm on Friday trips and 9:30pm on Saturday/Sunday trips. Rush hour traffic on Fridays may make the drive out to us 10-15 minutes longer than you expect.
You can also meet your guides at the trailhead on Mt. Hood instead. Please contact us if you would like to arrange meeting on the mountain, so we can let you know which trailhead we are using and when to expect us.
Note, our gear bank entrance is located below and behind the storefronts in downtown Troutdale. Turn left off the main street immediately after the "Gateway to the Gorge" arch to access the lower parking lot.
Please review our cancellation policy before booking your trip.
