48 Hours from Purchase Date
A full refund will be issued to customers within 48 hours of purchase. With the exception of a trip purchased within 10 days of said trip. In such cases a refund cannot be issued.
60 Days Or More From A Trip
A trip that is greater than 60 calendar days out will receive a refund of 50% of the purchase price of the trip. With the exception of trips purchased through 3rd party sites, these trips will be evaluated on a case by case basis and take into account the policies of Rare Earth Adventures and the site from which the trip was purchased.
Less Than 60 Days From A Trip
A trip cancelled less than 60 days from a trip will receive no refund. We also likely cannot reschedule a trip at the request of the customer. This is due to the cost that has already gone into the trip, and the fact that minimum participants must be met in order to send a trip out the door. Refunding or rescheduling would mean we wouldn’t be able to honor our commitment to other participants not associated with your party.
During a Trip
Once a trip goes out the door it cannot be refunded. If the guide and/or clients choose to cut a trip short of the scheduled length for whatever reason a refund will not be issued. This should play a factor in your decision making process. Every effort will be made to conduct a trip as planned, however, trip itineraries may be modified due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Third Party Groups
This is in reference to any discount received through a site, vendor, location, event or special promotion other than directly through www.rareearthadventures.com. Because of the discounted rate of these trips we cannot issue a refund. Most of these companies provide travel insurance directly and this is HIGHLY recommended.
Exceptions
Rare Earth Adventures reserves the right to cancel a trip for any reason, this includes safety concerns, number of people signed up for the trip, weather or any other unforeseen circumstances. In these cases we will try to reschedule, if this is not possible we will issue you a full refund of the trip price.
Weather
Rare Earth Adventures strives to make every trip memorable. A factor we can not control is the weather. We can say some of our greatest and most memorable trips have been during “unfavorable” weather events. As much as we would like to have each trip conducted in optimal weather conditions it is unrealistic here in the Pacific Northwest. The only time we will cancel a trip for weather is if we deem weather or conditions unsafe, and this call will be made prior to the trip going out the door. Once a trip does go out refer to our policy on a cancellation during a trip.
Travel Insurance
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip cost. Rare Earth Adventures is not responsible for costs you may have put into your trip. This includes your flights or lodging. Travel insurance could protect you against unplanned emergencies that may disrupt your travel plans including illness, natural disasters such as wildfire, cancelled flights, or lost luggage.
